Pooled

Dark blue morning
Silvered slowly
Through wet forest
As light reversed—

First more tarnished,
Almost black clouds,
Then less polished,
Half-shining lake.

Day made day change
Without aging,
Clouds bringing
More clouds away.

Light went forward.
Even evening,
Looking backward,
Increased the day.
