Apricater

Following two days of rains,
You do what anyone might
Who has the time to sit out—

You head to the sunny porch
Of the mossy, borrowed house
To be old-fashioned lazy,

Cat lazy, not hunched in front
Of an entertaining screen,
Not out for brisk exercise,

Just basking in sudden sun,
Where you feel like a dactyl,
So stately and classical,

Just for doing nothing much
In such an old-fashioned way.
