Every happiness generates
A little more desperation,
If only in that what you like
You’d love to get to like again,
Which sets up an expectation,
The first step to desperation,
Wanting what you had once, maybe
Can or might never have again.
It’s all right. Leave one happiness
As done to find another one.
Someone will tell you the secret
To happiness is this or that.
Forget it. The secrets’ secret
Is that you’ve got to forget it.
