What the Greeks could have been,
Had they not torn themselves
Apart, or what the States
Could have been had they seen
Through the Reconstruction.
Pick your own examples.
For every historic
Glory, there’s a shadow
Story of the failures
Preventing anything
Greater, anything close
To what had been promised
Or imagined promised.
So much disappointment,
Rather than the winners,
Is what writes history,
Since the Revolution
Caresses the Terror.
