Of the evolving kind is to posit which
Key peculiar trait it was made humans
Special, all alone among the animals.
Why not bells? The belled ape. Sure,

Not all humans have or have rung bells,
But think about it. There was never a bell
Heard on Earth, not in four billion years,
Until humans started making them.
Half the whole world rhymes with them.
