Informers

Poets form their worlds in trust—
They’re rarely the fact finders.
They trust the facts of others,

Which requires trusting others,
So it matters who they trust.
An argument of poets

May involve truth or meters,
What’s important to notice,
What’s important to express,

But all that comes down to trust,
That is—whose facts poets trust
Epistemologically.

They’re vulnerable, poets,
Valuable as they know it.
