A Dragon Stole around Your Neck

An overwhelming ordeal,
So many scales, mostly small,
Much the same, in a real way,

But with a consistent shine
That refreshes scale to scale,
Radiating at all scales,

It’s a repetitive beast
Of endless variation,
The universal dragon.

And every scale’s the same scale,
And every day tips the scales,
The weight of so much armor

Over chain mail, and every
Glint flickers the same blue light
That shifts forever to red,

And although the dragon wields
Too many tails, you wear them
To look like too many heads.
