Tell Us Everything This Poem’s About

You think about the day. You have the whole day all to yourself. Then you begin to see things inside your head which you did not put there.

It starts with a loss-of-function mutation.
Someone’s been repeating the linear Western
View of time so often it seems like a thing,

An edifice you can question and resist.
Acceptable forms of resistance include
Fragmentation, circularity, doubling,

And foregrounding non-western identity.
Unacceptable means include knock-out memes,
By which parts of the machine are disabled

To watch the mythical edifice crumble
Or evolve an apparent adaptation.
What is the non-linear Western view of time?

What is the linear non-Western view of time?
What’s the linear Western view of timelessness?
These variations aren’t endless, but they can

Make quite a mess. What is the meaning of this?
You tell us. We’re just here carrying water
And spears. Have you ever noticed how little

Language there is in your dreams, at least compared
To the loquacity of ordinary,
Multimedia days? Words form your days’ dreams.
