Last Year You Wrote from a Hospital Bed

Creative continuity,
Progressive nothing, tradition,
What nobody controls changes

Fastest. Really? Alone with blank
Pages, in a crowd of blank stares,
Nobody controls anything,

Still change retains its full ranges.
It’s a scary moment, this far
Out and feeling tired with rip tide

Back of your mind. What can you make
Of swimming against the current
That would allow a Rube Goldberg

Solution to prevent drowning?
And yet, a year later, you’re here.
