Evergreen

Foolish, watching people disagree
About some obvious agreement
Such as over the names for colors—

Are we really seeing the same shades?
What about those languages that have
No name for this or that? Can they see

What we see? Is what we see a myth?
Then they fall to arguing fiercely,
Never agreeing to disagree,

And never agreeing they agree,
Meanwhile they live by the color green,
And the bright ones write research papers.
