An Accurate Mistake

Maybe it’s not such a mistake
To begin days in the middle of night.

A calendar’s got to be strange some way
To indicate time on a periodic planet

Modularly. You can call it a brand new day,
While it sure still looks like darkest night,

But that’s the case so often in life
That somehow that mistake feels right.
