Irrelevant

To look up and see yourself
In the middle of a crowd
Uninterested in being

Any good at what you spend
Your waking hours attempting
And unsure how well you’ve worked—

People lacking all concern
For your peculiar concerns,
Whatever else concerns them—

Is to feel irrelevant
And released in one moment.
How feckless is it,

To try what only humans
Could appreciate, only
Humans could evaluate,

Yet feel a surge of delight
To think of never being
Appreciated for it,

Evaluated for it?
Still, what in life is release
If not sensed irrelevance?
