No matter what you do,
No matter how noble,
Conventional, or base,

Most of what you’re doing
Is doing what you do.
You’re living. You’re doing

Things—finding food, cleaning,
Wasting, visiting friends,
Going to school, home, work,

Doing your chores, doing
Chores someone else gave you,
Having friends to visit,

Picking out, putting on
Your clothes, your roles, taking
Them off again, again,

Daydreaming, puttering,
Talking to everyone
You have left to talk to

About whatever you
Generally talk about—
You, them, what you’re doing,

What’s doing, what should be
Done, what takes some doing.
Most days, you do okay.

Some days, you don’t do well.
Look around. Everyone
Does under the same spell.
