Mountain ranges wave
Lightweight folds of crust,
Slow tidal bores, slow
Tsunamis, snowy
Peaks for froth, and surf
Breaking in earthquakes.
Who poles the ferry
Across rocks churning,
Against waves of stone?
That raft moves even
Slower than the waves,
Too slow to notice,
But it’s crossing, back
And forth, back and forth.
Save your spells and gold.
