A Glass of Water

However much or little
Awareness attends to it,
The material world is

Omnipresent. In the act
Of filling a water glass,
It swirls in all its details,

While the spiritual world,
The world of meanings, flickers
In and out of existence.

How meaning is here at all,
And where it goes when it goes,
The material won’t tell.
