The early atomists argued,
And there’s lots of little stuff,
And littler and littler, but
You’re just finding fields of stuff.
The void is necessary
To make calculations work,
And yet nothing ever goes,
Ever really seems to go,
Into it. Even black holes
May just keep stuff to themselves,
Leaking out a little bit.
Is there void? For you there is.
In a chatty article
On cheerful experiments
With quantum entanglements,
All very optimistic,
There’s a small parenthesis
For one of the physicists,
Noting he later died in
A rock-climbing accident.
