If Time-Bounded Complexity Is Hard

Time’s arrow shows the cosmos
Is itself cryptography,
The perfect one-way function—

Perhaps, Earth’s cryptographers
May yet prove, the only one,
But certainly the longest—

Which poses the unsettling
And, from within the function,
Unsolvable conundrum—

What is the cosmos hiding
And what is it hiding it
From? Imagine awareness

As infinitesimal
Scrap of the code, wondering,
All on its own, what could be

A secret so disturbing
That it would need this cosmos
Dark enough to encode it?
