Wavering, wobbly patterns
Often prove to be stabler,
More enduring than they seem.
That’s not necessarily
Such a good thing. Families,
For instance, noble houses,
Bob back after wars and plagues,
Conquests and revolutions.
Check out Japan or Sweden.
Obliterations rarely
Eliminate deep patterns.
Spot the flying dinosaurs
Settling feathers in your yard,
The conifers surviving
Among the bees and flowers.
Waves do break and change their shapes,
But the oceans send legions,
And none’s not repetition.
