By Darkest Starlight

The brilliance that reveals nothing,
The light that you can’t see by,
All your presence and futures consist
Of comparing what’s already happened,
The present as shades of the past.

Inside that past, you’ll notice most
Things do just come to pass and fade
Away, including fears and everything
That came to be important to you,
Including, by inference, flickering you.

You search for each other’s darkened faces
In the room when there are no lights,
In the visitors’ cave on tour, in the night
Of darkest starlight, and sometimes
You embrace each other, sometimes.
