The Accidental Never Falls Far from the Tree

You can’t betray contingency.
You can only make it foolish

By braying about it, as if
Invoking it proved your wisdom.

It might. Never prove your wisdom.
Wisdom is spit in the desert.

To prove you have it loses it
And improves nothing in the sand.

Yes, contingency links events,
But who invokes contingency

Who isn’t secretly in love
With cause and its parent, bondage?
