Of the brain, the human brain,
Include Marianne Boruch’s
Brains imaged as wild roses
Growing / next to the sea, their
Strange / dual citizenship
Neatly terraced and landscaped.
We don’t get enough of that,
Of names that nod images
Of brains as they see the world
In themselves, unseen themselves
In the world at five a.m.
Reading poems about seascapes
Reimagined in bright sun.
