Overwhelm. The inhuman

Forces neither have nor need

Allies. There’s no allying

With them. That’s one of the ways

Forces are impersonal,

And in fact you’re easily—

Too easily—overwhelmed.

You’re keeping close eye on them,

Those impersonal forces,

So you feel less overwhelmed—

No one grows more intimate

And warm by turning to lean

Into the storm—but neither

Are you aligned with the storm.
