Blip

Ah, what if life always destroys itself,
And that’s why we’ll never be contacted
By any alien intelligence?

Stars go supernova, galaxies merge,
And any planet evolving with life
Inevitably eats itself alive.

There’s a little flare, like a meteor
In the very local dark. Then it’s gone.
This happens all the time. We’re flaring now.
