You don’t know the name, the name
Of the tree that’s still yellow
Just outside of your window—
It has a little green left
Yet, and it hasn’t started
The sudden drop of all leaves
That seems to characterize
The local change of season.
You’re waiting for a phone call,
You’re not really ready for
Just at the moment the cats
Screech and tumble down the stairs.
